e.l.f. Cosmetics Displaying Profitable Social Media

Friday, November 6th, 2009

e.l.f. Cosmetics just appeared on YouTube.  Did I manifest it?  Well maybe, but I was on YouTube watching another video and when I hit the home button e.l.f.’s video was suggested.

When I interviewed Ted Rubin I knew they were "Doing it right."   When I researched it I saw it.  When a video appeared in front of me spontaneously I knew it on a visceral level.  Congratulations Ted.

Profitable Social Media at e.l.f. Cosmetics

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We are into the interview process for the book, Profitable Social Media , hot and heavy now.  Today I interviewed Ted Rubin, CMO of e.l.f. Cosmetics.  The interview is fascinating, not because of what I said, but because e.l.f. is so effective using blogging, direct email, twitter, facebook, and various cross promotions that it needs no traditional advertising budget.

The five year old, privately held company, which thinks of itself as an online marketing company has positioned itself as a value line with make up users.  Target stores will have introduced a holiday special to all its stores by Nov. 1 which moves it beyond the traditional base.  But having 2,000,000 plus members on the email list and large numbers on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.

Listen to the interview yourself and you will hear how immersed EyesLipsFace is in making social media profitable. You are welcome to use this short link to the interview http://cli.gs/psmelf

You can look forward to more interviews here on Profit Thru Social Media in the coming weeks.

Warmest Regards,
Edward Philipp
